Best Software for Accounting Firms in India (2026): 4 CA Practice Platforms to Compare
Last checked: 1 November 2026. If you run a Chartered Accountant (CA), Company Secretary (CS) or tax practice, the software decision is different from choosing an accounting package for one business. Your firm may need to manage many client entities, recurring GST and tax work, document requests, staff assignments, deadlines, billing and client communication. A general ledger alone will not organise all of that work.
This guide compares four practice-management products whose official websites describe workflows for accounting or CA firms in India: Zoho Practice, Pracly, CA Practice and Turia. It is a shortlist to evaluate, not a ranking or a claim that one product is best for every firm. Product details and public prices below were checked against vendor pages on 1 November 2026. Confirm current terms with each vendor before buying.
First, separate practice management from accounting software
Practice-management software helps your firm organise clients, jobs, recurring work, documents, staff responsibilities, deadlines and billing. Accounting software such as TallyPrime or Zoho Books is primarily used to maintain the books and financial transactions of a business. A CA firm may use both: a practice platform to run its own operations and accounting tools to work on clients’ books.
Do not assume that a product labelled “accounting software” includes a complete practice workflow. Before shortlisting, decide whether your main problem is client bookkeeping, compliance execution, team workload, document collection, or all of these.
Four practice-management tools to evaluate
1. Zoho Practice — worth evaluating if your firm wants structured workflows and Zoho integrations
Zoho describes Practice as a platform for accounting firms, with client collaboration, task management, recurring tasks, timesheets and billing, document management, workpapers, activity logs, workflow automation and financial insights. Its India pricing page lists Standard at ₹3,540 per organisation per month, or ₹2,950 per organisation per month when billed annually. Premium is listed at ₹10,740 monthly, or ₹8,950 per month when billed annually. Both plans include up to five users; additional users are listed at ₹480 monthly or ₹400 per month on annual billing. Ledger add-ons are listed separately.
Check the plan boundary carefully. The Standard plan’s client management is labelled for Zoho clients only. Premium adds a self-service client portal, custom modules and ledgers. If your clients use a mix of accounting systems, ask Zoho to demonstrate the exact client-collaboration workflow you would use.
Best fit to investigate: a firm already using Zoho Finance products, or one that wants task, document, workpaper and client-collaboration workflows in a connected ecosystem.

2. Pracly — a low-cost India-focused option for CA, CS and tax practices
Pracly positions itself for Chartered Accountants, Company Secretaries and tax consultants in India. Its published feature information describes client records, a compliance calendar, a practice board, fee tracking, audit workflows, certificates and document templates. Its pricing page currently lists a free plan with no expiry, Essentials at ₹499 per month plus GST, Practice at ₹699 per month plus GST, and Complete at ₹999 per month plus GST.
The plans cover different practice needs. The vendor describes Essentials around GST and Income Tax work; Practice adds company-law and ROC-related work; Complete adds broader audit and team capabilities. Check the current feature matrix and the number of users, clients and workflows included before committing.
Best fit to investigate: a small Indian practice that wants to test a purpose-built workflow without starting with a large per-seat subscription.

3. CA Practice — a compliance-workflow option to assess during early access
CA Practice describes a workflow built around recurring compliance tasks, client document collection, staff assignment, task status and deadline alerts. Its website currently advertises early access with up to 10 clients and five user accounts, including email and WhatsApp document requests and a mobile upload portal. The same pricing section also displays a ₹499-per-month Practice tier, so confirm the exact early-access and future paid-plan terms directly before relying on the offer.
Best fit to investigate: a small firm whose main operational pain is generating recurring tasks, collecting documents and seeing which filings are pending or overdue.
Official details: CA Practice official website.
4. Turia — a broader CA and CS practice platform for teams to assess
Turia describes a cloud-based platform for CA and CS firms, covering client and lead management, tasks, compliance tracking, notice management, billing, communication and team operations. Its website advertises a seven-day trial and a demo route. It lists integrations such as Gmail, Outlook, WhatsApp and government portals. Importantly, the site labels Zoho Books and Tally integrations as “Coming Soon” at the time of this check; do not assume those integrations are already available.
Best fit to investigate: a growing firm that wants a broader practice workspace and is prepared to validate the exact integrations, onboarding and commercial terms in a demo.

How to choose the right platform for your firm
- Map your real workflow. List how a client is onboarded, how work is assigned, which documents are requested, how deadlines are monitored, who reviews the work and how the client is billed.
- Check multi-entity client handling. Confirm whether one client group can contain multiple companies, LLPs, trusts or individuals, and how access and work history are separated.
- Test recurring compliance work. Ask the vendor to demonstrate the recurring GST, TDS, income-tax, ROC and audit tasks relevant to your practice. Check how due dates are updated and who owns exceptions.
- Test document collection end to end. Send a request, upload a file from a phone, check who can view it, track reminders and export the document if you leave the platform.
- Review access and security. Ask about role-based permissions, multi-factor authentication, encryption, audit logs, backups, data location, subprocessors, retention and deletion. Do not upload live PAN, Aadhaar, bank or client records until your firm has reviewed the vendor’s security and contractual terms.
- Calculate the full cost. Include users, client or ledger limits, add-ons, onboarding, storage, messaging, integrations, taxes and any migration charges. Compare the annual cost for your actual team, not only the entry price.
- Run a controlled pilot. Use a small set of representative clients and two or three staff members. Test a complete recurring job cycle before migrating the whole practice.
Questions to ask during a vendor demo
- Can you show a recurring job from task creation through document collection, review, completion and billing?
- Can partners see overdue work across clients and staff without asking each employee for a status update?
- How are client groups and multiple legal entities handled?
- Can we export client records, documents, task history and billing data in usable formats?
- Which integrations are live today, which are limited by plan, and which are still on the roadmap?
- What happens to our data and access when the subscription ends?
- Who provides onboarding and support, and what response times are included?
Which tool should you evaluate first?
There is no universal winner. If your firm already works inside Zoho, start by testing Zoho Practice’s client and workpaper workflows. If price and India-specific filing workflows are the priority, compare Pracly and CA Practice carefully. If you need a wider team operations platform, put Turia through a detailed demo and verify its integrations. For firms with international clients or workflows, you can also assess global products, but check local support, currency, compliance fit and data arrangements.
Use the same sample workflow and the same scorecard for every demo. A product that looks impressive in a presentation may still be a poor fit if your team cannot use it consistently.
